REMEMBER THE TWO MOST IMPORTANT FEATURES YOU GET
MOST IMPORTANT – YOU CAN CLOSE YOUR BEDROOM DOOR! When these big fans are in a central hallway they can only cool a room if the door is open. But these fans will be connected by ducts to each bedroom ceiling to pull air with the door closed.
ALSO IMPORTANT – THE BIG FAN WILL BE UP IN YOUR ATTIC SO YOU WILL NOT BE BOTHERED BY HAVING IT IN SOME CEILING IN A HALLWAY. It will not be visible and you will not have a loud noise from it in a hall.
Here are the prices for the huge fans and the time it takes each to move all the air in your home. I hope this helps you decide on the right fan for YOUR home. The way these times are calculated is to multiply the SF times 8 feet (if your ceilings are 8 feet high) so a 3000 SF home times 8 is 24,000 cubic feet. Then divide that by the CFM (cubic feet per minute) and for the 5600 CFM fan that is 24,000/5600 = 4.28 or about 4 minutes. So now – what if you have a 5000 sf home with 10 foot ceilings? You multiply 5000 times10 feet for 50,000 cubic feet. Divide that by 5600 to get 8.9 minutes. You might be just fine with that – especially if you only need to cool a few rooms.
