STUDIO

Raymond Romaine is the project contracts leader on the Los Angeles suburb Studio City’s Gymasium project. AOReed is sub contactor to FordEC, the company that got the contract from the Los Angeles procurement team. The Los Angeles contracts officer was Shun Yu at first and is now Ray Araujo. The Construction Manager is Neel Mistry as of 11-14-24. Below is a series of text messages I traded with Romaine in October and Novenber when I was trying to get more information on his plan to place an order for the 8 rooftops in the specification drawn up by the mechanical engineer of record, James Shwe of MarokoShwe. Here is the City’s illustration of the project. I added the rooftop details below from the specification.

Here are the texts I exchanged with Mr. Romaine

I never got any text from him after that.

The purpose of this page is to document my exchanges with Romaine for display to FordEC and to the Los Angeles project people.

My concern is that Romaine might be planning to purchase inferior gravity rooftops from another source.

Here is the data showing why the Australian (Edmonds) and Invisco rooftops are so much better. Note there are only 2 sources for hybrids in the world – Edmonds and Invisco.

Note in the graphic below there are two of the top American rooftop suppliers, Greenheck and LorenCook. Both firms have no hybrids, so their gravity ventilators have no powered option. In addition their gravity ventilators offer far less air flow. Note that a breeze adds air flow to these turbine tops.
